Christmas Fruit Baskets

My daughter has be to the most pampered little four year old in the world. The reason being, she is a girl. That’s not a reason for anyone to go nuts over a child but in my family, being a girl is a really unique thing. There are more boys in my family than in thee are in the army. I have no aunts, just uncles and they all have sons. Two or three each. The women in my family come from marriage. Except for me and my daughter. I was the only girl in my generation and history is undoubtedly repeating itself with my daughter. She has ten little boy cousins and no one to play dolls with. So anything and everything that my little girl wants, her Uncles get it for her. They don’t even ask if I approve of the gift or not, which is why she has three easy bake ovens. She got the first when she was ten months old.

This year as she continued to expand her vocabulary and learn new things about the world she realized we didn’t have a proper chimney. How would Santa come deliver the Christmas gifts if there wasn’t a chimney? We live in a modern style home, with electric heating; we don’t really need a chimney. But of course, since she wanted it, her uncles would get it for her. So while I planned my Christmas shopping and organized my gifts for Christmas, my cousins began building an outdoor chimney beside my house. My daughter would sit outside and watch her uncles build. She told them it had to be made of red brick and the cement had to be white.

I tried to talk them out of it but they were convinced this was the ultimate in unique Christmas gifts for a child. I have learned never to argue with a self proclaimed contractor. When the chimney was finally ready my daughter announced that Santa had cavities. Since he had to go to houses all over the world in one night, he didn’t time to brush his teeth after eating the milk and cookies. I tried suggesting we leave a granola bar and soda but no, Santa would catch a cold. On top of all my Christmas shopping, I now had to find a healthy gift for Santa aka my fat cousin who would play the part on Christmas Eve.

I suggested more health food, but my daughter wouldn’t let Santa eat something that she didn’t like. She personally taste tested everything. We couldn’t agree on anything until one day she walked in on my online Christmas shopping and saw me looking for some nice Christmas gift baskets. She declared that fruit for Christmas would be perfect for Santa and also added she needed to taste it herself to make sure. I searched around and found some nice fruit baskets for Christmas with the fruit arranged like a floral bouquet. I ordered one for Santa, my daughter and then ten more for people at work. It looked wonderful and would easily pass as a very heartfelt Christmas gift. It was a real break for my long Christmas shopping list.

Halloween Fruit Baskets

Halloween is a holiday celebrated on October 31. History of Halloween, like any other festivals is inspired through traditions that have transpired through ages from one generation to another. We follow them mostly as did our dads and grandpas. And as this process goes on, much of their originality get distorted with newer additions and alterations. It happens so gradually, spanning over so many ages, that we hardly come to know about these distortions.

At one point of time it leaves us puzzled, with its multicolored faces. For instance, take as the trick or treat part of the Halloween gifts. There used to be a time where grandmas and moms used to bake freshly homemade cookies and biscuits for trick and treat, now due to the changes in our environment and the loss of appetite on tradition it has been changed to distributing candies and sweets.

If we look in our surrounding we can find a lot of creative Halloween gift idea such as Halloween gift baskets which are basically Halloween fruits enriched with fresh and nutritious fruits. These Halloween fruit baskets are beautifully arranged in a bouquet or basket arrangement. Children can easily pick their favorite fruit easily without dirtying their hands. The advantage to this practice would be that you be saving yourselves from a lot of unhealthy sweets being distributed to young children this would help them grow and enrich them with essential vitamins.

If you have kids in boarding and they are back for two, three months try to arrange a wonderful summer celebration for them. Invite all their friends and kids in the family and plan for a delicious summer fruits party. Set an outdoor location, it could be your beautiful lawn or backyard area. Decorate it with colorful tables and place fresh summer fruits arrangements over them and plan a competition to finish them up. Arrange a mango party and ask them to eat as many as they can. Arrange some music to make it more fun.
If you have girls then try to involve them in some creative fun stuff. Side wise arrange a table for girls and place a summer fruit bouquet and provide them some fruits and fruit cutters. Ask them to craft some flower shapes from those fruits same as fruits arranged in fresh summer fruit bouquet. The one who is good in making shapes from fruits must be awarded with the fresh summer fruit bouquets or fresh chocolate dipped strawberries. Arrange a tent for your kids and let them enjoy their summer celebrations.
